Final Opportunity for Businesses to Join STEMFest Launch

With limited spaces remaining, businesses across Hull and East Yorkshire have a final opportunity to be part of the launch of STEMFest Hull 2027 at the Industry Engagement Event on Wednesday 15th April at Connexin Live.

Delivered by RTC North in association with HETA and Connexin, the event marks the official starting point for STEMFest’s arrival in Hull, bringing one of the region’s most impactful STEM engagement programmes to the area for the first time.

Already established across the North, STEMFest events have inspired thousands of young people by connecting them directly with employers through interactive workshops, live demonstrations and hands-on experiences.

Claire Willis, RTC North, said:

“Bringing STEMFest to Hull for the first time is an exciting opportunity for the city and the wider Humberside region. This event allows us to work closely with local employers, educators and partners to showcase the breadth of talent, industries and career opportunities that exist here. We’re delighted to introduce STEMFest to the area and create a platform that reflects the strengths and ambitions of the region.”

The Industry Engagement Event will give businesses an exclusive early opportunity to shape STEMFest Hull 2027, exploring how they can get involved through exhibiting, sponsoring or delivering activities that bring careers in engineering, manufacturing, digital and green technology to life.

Iain Elliott, HETA, added:

“As the leading provider in Humberside of engineering apprenticeships and training, we recognise the importance of inspiring young people to think about technical careers. STEMFest is a fantastic opportunity for local employers to engage with young people and showcase the opportunities available within the sector.”

More than just an event, STEMFest is a chance for businesses to position themselves at the forefront of future talent development, helping young people understand the opportunities available to them while strengthening the region’s long-term skills pipeline.

Gary Clark, Strategic Partnership at Connexin, added:

“At Connexin, we’re passionate about developing future talent. STEMFest is about opening doors for young people and helping businesses connect with the workforce of tomorrow.”

The initiative is backed by the Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire, highlighting a shared ambition to support young people and drive forward skills development across the region.

Speaking in support of STEMFest Hull, Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire, Luke Campbell MBE added:

“It’s brilliant to see STEMFest coming to Hull and East Yorkshire and opening young people’s eyes to what’s possible. If we want to build a stronger future for our region, we’ve got to give the next generation real opportunities to see, experience and get excited about careers in science, technology and engineering.

Bringing businesses face-to-face with young people and showing them they've got a future right here at home. This is how we build confidence, raise ambition and grow the skilled workforce our regional economy needs for the future.”

With demand expected to be high, businesses are encouraged to act quickly to secure one of the final remaining places and be part of shaping STEMFest Hull 2027 from the very beginning.
